Papua New Guinea – Peaberry Truly One of A Kind !

This amazing coffee is sweet and medium-bodied, Papua New Guinea coffee is prized for its richness and crisp, clean finish. Subtle, yet distinct chocolaty tones make this medium roast organic coffee a favorite among our customers. The Papua New Guinea coffee bean is versatile and makes a distinguished cup of morning coffee, as well as a smooth after dinner coffee served with dessert. This unique light roast organic coffee is grown in Papua New Guinea Highlands and was first planted in Wau in the 1930's from seeds imported from Jamaica's Blue Mountain region.

This Indonesian coffee is cultivated and harvested in the rugged mountains of Papua New Guinea alongside the Wahgi River. At elevations in excess to 4,000 feet, this area is also home to the albizza trees that were discovered in the 1930s; grown on just a few acres on the riverbank, the albizza trees allow these coffee beans capture their fruit-like essences to bring you a truly unique flavor. We medium roast each small batch of Papua New Guinea coffee to produce a smooth-tasting and well-balanced cup with a crisp finish. Try a cupping of this gourmet coffee to experience the complex flavors of this exotic region

Papua New Guinea - Peaberry

Sigri coffee plantation, located in the Waghi Valley in the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea was established over 50 years ago and rapidly gained the reputation for producing the finest Arabic coffee in the country. Their quality control begins in the field. Cherry coffee is hand-picked and is painstakingly checked for uniformity. It must be red and fully ripe which is necessary to obtain the correct balance of sugar and acid within the cherry. The selected cherries are then pulped on the same day of picking. The fermentation process follows with a period of three days broken every 24 hours by washing. Unlike most other coffees, the Sigri process follows this by total immersion in water for an extra day. This creates an amazingly superior coffee. Sun drying further enhances the coffee and, unlike many other green coffees from this region all Sigri coffee is dun dried.

Altitude: 1500-1700m

Varietals: Roottsock, Caturra, Typica

Process: fully washed, sun-dried on patios.

Cupping Notes: With a fragrance of papaya and mango, this Indonesian coffee is sweetly acidic with a mild-medium body of complex flavors and subtleties that create a delicate smoothness to each cup. Known to have flavors of molasses, tangy grapefruit, and hazelnut, yet distinct chocolaty tones this coffee from Papua New Guinea is exotic and flavorful.

ROASTED IN SMALL BATCHES TO GUARANTEE AN EVEN, MEDIUM ROAST - Small batch roasting is more expensive because of labor costs, but this roasting technique ensures that each batch of coffee is of superior quality and roasted evenly to the desired roast profile, not mass produced. This process draws out the best possible flavor in each batch. Small batch roasting permits a higher quality of standards in coffee throughout the complete process: from picking out the correct coffee beans, to choosing the correct charge & drop temperature & then to slowly roasting each small batch to perfection.

I can assure that you will never find a company so dedicated to bringing you the finest & freshest coffees from all over the world.

Enjoy,

Darling & Family
